Sara Lee said it was selling the unit so it could focus on its main business as a food maker, adding that the air-freshener business generated $355 million in fiscal 2009. P&G anticipates the purchase will strengthen its market presence.
Stocks of P&G jumped 38 cents to $62.62 and Sara Lee shares climbed 4 cents to $12.23 in morning trading.
