Apple Countersuing Nokia in Phone Patent Suit

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

In a counterstrike to Nokia Corp’s earlier suit against Apple’s iPhone technology, Apple Inc. is suing Nokia for patent infringement. Claiming that Nokia is infringing on 13 of Apple’s patents, the suit says Nokia chose to “copy the iPhone”, especially its user interface.

Nokia's lawsuit claims that Apple infringes on 10 of its patents covering both phone calls and Wi-Fi access.

Both suits were filed in a Delaware federal court.

While shares of Nokia rose 27 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $12.38 in morning trading, Apple fell 62 cents to $195.81.
