U.S. leader in Illegal Drug Use
Narconon explains how effective drug rehabilitation is the only solution to minimizing illegal drug use in the country
According to a new survey, the U.S. leads over 40 other nations in illegal drug use. Drugs like cocaine, alcohol, and marijuana are among the most used by the more than 23 million people who are currently struggling with substance abuse issues in the country. In addition, drug addiction accounts for 80% of crime in the United States and its negative consequences cost billions every year. And even though more and more people are getting hooked on drugs, especially prescriptions most recently there is a solution that can be offered through drug treatment. However, the program must be results-based and have a good success rate for permanent recovery. Historically, the most common form of treatment is traditional types such as 12-step, and disease concept rehab. This type of treatment has shown to be beneficial but with success rates somewhere around 3-12% for permanent recovery it is not centered around results. More recently there are several other types of rehabilitation out there that handle addiction with a holistic method. More and more people are beginning to focus on this type of rehabilitation, because of its long-term success rate and drug-free approach that gets results. One program that has been doing this since 1966 is the Narconon Louisiana drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Most addicts will agree that one of the hardest obstacles to overcome when trying to stay clean are the intense cravings. Well this is something that our program handles through a sauna detoxification program, that clients take part in that will help free them from the constant cravings that come with drug and alcohol use, so that they are then able to focus on the underlying reasons for their addiction.” Narconon Louisiana does not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease, instead they help the individual pinpoint what solution drugs were for them. Clients concentrate on breaking the “habits” that are formed when addicted to drugs and alcohol. These habits can include running away from problems, isolating themselves, leaving when things get too hard, all these things are manifestations of not being able to face life and needing the aid of drugs or alcohol. Once those areas in a person’s life are handled they are able to live their lives without drugs or alcohol. In a time where we are now the leaders in drug use it’s time to focus on effective drug rehabilitation as a real solution to the problem. Drug and alcohol use does not have to go unhandled.
