Tiger Woods Loses Sponsorship, Other Sponsors Show Signs of Concern

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Tiger Woods’ sponsorship by global consulting firm Accenture Ltd. has been dropped on the grounds that, in the wake of public revelations of infidelity, the pro golfer is “no longer the right representative”.

Woods announced last week his intentions to take an indefinite leave from golf, effective immediately.

Accenture’s relationship with woods began six years ago. The global consulting firm significantly strengthened its image with its “Go on, be a Tiger” campaign.

Although other sponsors such as Nike and Electronic Arts have not announced plans to terminate Woods, though AT&T said it’s evaluating its relationship with the golfer and Gillette said it’s currently not airing advertisements featuring Woods.
