Academic Help for Teens Can Be More Effective During Summer

With the growth in summer academic camps and programs, teen academic help is no longer restricted to the months of September to June. SuperCamp's academic camps for teens provide students entering grades 9-12 in the fall with a 10-day learning and life skills program that increases their ability to work smarter and more efficiently in all subject areas of school.

In addition, the life skills component of SuperCamp enables students to acquire communication, leadership and critical thinking skills that enhance their academic performance. Another aspect of these programs is the increased confidence, self-esteem and motivation that students gain.

Many parents have found that letting their kids focus on enrichment for a week or so in the summer is more effective than overloading them during the school year with after-school programs.

The results reported by students who have attended SuperCamp support these parents' thinking. SuperCamp reports that in a study with over 6,000 graduates, 73 percent indicate an increase in grades in the year following their summer enrichment. Over 80 percent say they have more confidence and greater self-esteem.

The primary reason for SuperCamp's success is its proprietary Quantum Learning methods that develop the whole person and engage students at a much higher level than most school teachers do. In addition, every mini-success and effort by the students at SuperCamp is acknowledged, which is critical in building their confidence and motivation.

SuperCamp is in its twenty-ninth year and has seen over 53,000 students graduate from its programs. In 2010, the summer enrichment program is offered at nine schools across the U.S. Sessions are grade specific and include camps for students entering grades 6-8, those entering 9-12 and those entering and already in college.
