Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

Craigslist CEO, James Buckmaster says he elected not to do engage in a partnership with eBay in 2004 prior to meeting with eBay Chief Executive, Meg Whitman. He changed his position on Monday after a meeting with Whitman assured him that eBay has no plans to control Craiglist and is satisfied with hold a minority share in the popular website.

Whitman, who is running for California governor, assured Buckmaster that were business operations to go awry, that she would find a peacable way to terminate the relationship.

Buckmaster’s statements were revealed in an eBay lawsuit against Craigslist officials accused of acting to reduce eBay's minority stake in Craiglist following business disagreements in 2007.
