Men’s AP Top 25 College Basketball Rankings Week 5: Kansas Jayhawks Remain #1, Texas Longhorns, Kentucky Wildcats Follow
The Kansas Jayhawks continued to work their way through the early basketball season with blowout wins over Radford and La Salle to keep their perfect season alive and remain the #1 team in the latest AP Top 25 college basketball rankings.
Following the Jayhawks in the latest rankings for the third consecutive week are the Texas Longhorns who had a pair of 33-point victories as they head into a week that includes a match-up with the #10 North Carolina Tar Heels.
Jumping up a spot this week are the Kentucky Wildcats who survived a scare from the Connecticut Huskies and then surged past the Indiana Hoosiers to sweep their week and they should have little trouble staying unbeaten this week with Austin Peay the only school on their schedule.
The Syracuse Orange moved up two spots to #5 this week after picking up a 12-point win over then #10 Florida. Syracuse actually picked up two first-place votes.
Taking a hit in the rankings this week were the Villanova Wildcats who were stunned by Temple on Sunday and fell from #3 to #8 this week.
