Bomb Attack in Central Pakistan Kills at least 22 People, More Than 50 Injured

A bomb detonated at a market in central Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least 22 people and leaving more than 50 injured.

The blast occurred at a popular market in Dera Ghazi Khan and left nearly everything flattened. Search crews have been working desperately to remove large concrete slabs in hopes they will free survivors but the death toll could still climb significantly.

Dera Ghazi Khan is near a region in which the Pakistani army is carrying out an offensive against the Taliban. While officials have called that offensive a success many believe the militants have fled the region and taken refuge in nearby towns.
