The Chicago White Sox have landed outfielder Juan Pierre after dealing a pair of minor leaguer pitchers and cash to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.
Pierre appeared in 145 games in 2009, hitting .308 and stealing 30 bases while filling in for Manny Ramirez during his drug suspension. The nine-year vet was widely credited for guiding the Dodgers to a National League West title and earning a playoff appearance.
In return for Pierre the Dodgers will select the pair of pitchers from a list provided by the White Sox as well as receive an undisclosed amount of cash.
