Companies on the Move by EQUITIES Magazine, Asian Plantations Limited
Asian Plantations Limited, the Singapore-incorporated palm oil producer is now listed as a public company on London’s Alternative Investment Market. The company has steadily expanded since its inception and has already laid out plans for continued growth into 2011.
Asian Plantations expects to expand from their nearly 5,000 acre harvest plantation to 10,000 by the close of 2010. By 2011, the company intends to have over 20,000 acres of mature palm oil harvest.
Asian Plantation's expansion is expected to parallel the rising demand for palm oil as news of its heart-health benefits and inexpensive production costs spread to the Western world. Palm oil has long been considered a staple of diets in developing nations, and has established itself as the globally prevailing edible oil.
The palm oil industry continues to grow and Asian Plantations Limited intends to further its advancement on the global market.
The objective is not simply a business venture, but an eco-venture as well. Palm oil's intrinsic green potential manifests itself in a number of ways. Palm oil has the lowest production costs and the smallest carbon footprint of all edible oils, meaning its potential for sizable yields and ecological benefits can be quite substantial.
