Number of California Summer Enrichment Camps Growing in 2010
A leading international summer enrichment program is increasing its presence in California in 2010 with a total of four California summer camps. SuperCamp, which provides learning and life skills camps for middle school, high school and college students, will have more summer camps in California in 2010 than at any time in its 29-year existence.
This increase is in response to the number of California-based students that enroll each year, according to Joe Chapon, vice president of parent company, Quantum Learning Network. "We've always had a strong presence for SuperCamp in California," said Chapon. "But the demand has increased to a point where it made sense to add two additional school locations."
SuperCamp will run three Southern California summer camps in 2010 with the addition of UCLA and Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles to go along with Cal State San Marcos in San Diego. All six of its Northern California summer camps are held at Stanford, including two middle school camps and four high school camps.
SuperCamp operates its only program for incoming and current college students in California, as well. Quantum U, an 8-day program focusing on college-level learning and life skills, is offered in 2010 at Cal State San Marcos.
One of SuperCamp's two Parent Weekend programs is found in California, at Stanford on July 3-5.
These California summer enrichment programs draw students from across the U.S. and internationally, including Canada, Mexico and several Asian countries.
The very first SuperCamp was held in 1982 in California at Lake Tahoe. A total of 64 students attended the first program. To date, over 53,000 students have graduated from SuperCamp.
More information on specific dates and locations for all of SuperCamp's California summer camps and for its camps in Washington, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, and Rhode Island is available at the company's website and by calling 800-285-3276.
