MLM Stands For Multi Level Marketing According To ChristiaNet Poll

Multi Level Marketing such as business opportunities, home based franchises, work from home and affiliate programs are some of the MLM related articles at http://www.christianet.com/mlm/.

ChristiaNet.com (http://www.christianet.com), the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, asked readers, "Should Christians be involved in MLMs?" The majority of participants were unsure about this question, mainly because they didn't know what the term stands for. Out of 180 readers polled, 140 asked, "What is an MLM?" The basic concept of many multi level marketing opportunities is based upon recruiting others, while the distributors in the chain of the recruit receive commissions off of their sales or purchases of product. Oftentimes it seems like the main goal to make a lot of money is in the recruiting of others instead of the selling of product. (http://www.christianet.com/mlm/)

Twenty-two participants answered yes to the polled question but many felt that it had to be an honest endeavor used to win souls for Christ. One person said, "I see no problem with it as long as the opportunity works on Biblical principles." Another respondent in this group related that many people think all multi level marketing opportunities are "pyramid" scams.  Be careful and do some research before getting involved with an MLM, especially if there is money required up front to join, and one of the requirements of staying active is to maintain a certain amount of product inventory.

Eighteen readers felt that some of these types of opportunities could cause a Christian to stumble. One participant in this group said, "Multi level marketing involves a whole lot of people at the bottom, with the one at the top making stacks of money." God's word is clear about taking advantage of a brother or sister in Christ. What does it mean to love thy neighbor as thyself?

Of those polled, there were a few that have had some experience with an MLM. One person commented, "I see no harm in this. I am involved with a network marketing business that has a very good marketing plan." It seems that many participants felt that Christians should always seek God before becoming involved. Find out what the company's purpose statement and guiding principles are and if their honorable. One reader made a very good point that Christ must be the main focus of any business for it to be worthy of consideration.  For more information, visit: http://www.christianet.com/articles/
