Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Microsoft has finally settled with the EU Competition Commission. The settlement entails Microsoft delivering a software update that presents Internet Explorer users with a browser ballot enabling them to choose another.

The EU has posted more in-dept documents describing the settlement.

Microsoft, which some say is making the changes out of fear of the EU, has committed itself to a “public undertaking” that will ensure its products remain compatible with the technologies used by other companies.

In morning trading, Microsoft stock was up 33 cents, or 1.12 percent, to $30.35. <!--[endif]-->
