Dubbed “The Fabulous Jacksons Auction,” over 1,100 pieces of Jackson family memorabilia are set to be up for grabs at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on May 30-31 and Michael Jackson is none to pleased.
The gloved one is trying to stop auction house Guernsey’s from selling off items that include his gold record for his “Thriller” album, a white fedora he wore for the music video “Bad,” and handwritten lyrics for one of The Jackson Five’s biggest hits “ABC.”
Raymone K. Bain, a spokeswoman for Jackson, said, “Mr. Jackson was not aware and he is extremely upset that his memorabilia was included amongst the memorabilia that is being auctioned off.”
In December of 2006 Guernsey’s auctioned off a Michael Jackson’s Austrian-crystal-studded glove for $7,800.
Founder and president of Guernsey’s has likened the auction to an Elvis Presley themed auction conducted in 1999. That auction brought in nearly $5 million.
