The January episode of AS DARKNESS FALLS…, a horror anthology series written, directed and produced by John C. Alsedek and narrated by Tucker Smallwood, stars Dana Perry as a grieving torch singer with a horrifying secret and Roque Cerda as a bartender who tries to save her from herself.
Dawna Lee Heising of “Eye on Entertainment” (EOE) on Time Warner Cable co-stars as ‘Tallulah’, a drunken and somewhat reluctant hooker. Ms. Heising first began her film/television career back in the early 1980’s, appearing in productions such as John Carpenter’s “Big Trouble In Little China”, “Magnum P.I.”, “Kung Fu: The Next Generation”, “Tales Of The Gold Monkey”, and “The Young & The Restless”.
However, it’s only been on “AS DARKNESS FALLS…” that Ms. Heising has had the opportunity to explore certain facets of her acting talents. Her role as ‘Tallulah’ in ‘Madeline’s Veil’ is written specifically to showcase her aptitude for comedy, says series creator & EOE co-producer John C. Alsedek. “As we filmed ‘An Ungentle Wager’, I started thinking to myself that Dawna would be really good at comedy if she ever got the opportunity to do it. She loved the idea, so I wrote a funny part in ‘Madeline’s Veil’ just for her.” Also starring in ‘Madeline’s Veil’ will be “AS DARKNESS FALLS…” regulars Ronald Hough, Hattie Larsen, Paul Reilly, and Ann Stone.
In other news, the next episode of “AS DARKNESS FALLS…”, ‘The Drums of Tcho Ktlan’, starring award-winning record producer/composer Dino Maddalone, will be premiering on Friday, December 18th. ‘The Drums of Tcho Ktlan’ concerns a 1940’s swing drummer who steals a forbidden
Series creator John C. Alsedek first developed the idea for “AS DARKNESS FALLS…” back in May of 2009, Mr. Alsedek explains. “I’ve always loved the anthology show format, and lament that it’s largely fallen by the wayside today. Until one day, the idea for “AS DARKNESS FALLS…” came to me- filming the shows as if they were staged radio plays. It’s a very cost-effective way of producing programs, and it has a definite retro charm about it.” Mr. Alsedek ultimately hopes to find a home for “AS DARKNESS FALLS…” either on PBS or in syndication.
