The lawsuit was filed by Jennifer Smith, Linda Doyle’s daughter. Sprint Nextel allegedly “rejects the claims of negligence” claiming that there are ample warnings about using cellular devices while driving in its user manuals and packaging. Hill, who plead guilty to negligent homicide, has stated that he believes it is the choice of the individual whether to use their phone while driving or not.
