Jamaican Blue Mountain growth is so strict that only coffee cultivated in this mountain range is permitted to hold the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee label, a globally protected certification mark under the administration of the Jamaican Coffee Industry Board. Even the altitude on the mountain is strictly enforced as only coffee grown between 3,000 and 5,500 ft have been given the title of Jamaican Blue Mountain. Coffee grown between 1,500 and 3,000 feet is called Jamaican High Mountain and below that you’ll find Jamaican Low Mountain also called Jamaica Supreme.
