Son and Brother of Survivor Blood Vs. Water’s Tina and Katie Killed in Car Accident

Taylor Lee Collins, the son and brother of Survivor: Blood vs. Water contestants Tina Wesson and Katie Collins, died earlier this month in a car accident. Taylor died when the vehicle he was riding in slammed into a wall in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Tuesday, December 3. The 25-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Tina, who won the second season of Survivor in 2001, confirmed her son’s death on Twitter. "My beautiful boy's body is no longer here, but the fun happy memories will last a lifetime. Thnxs for all the love!"she wrote.

Tina and Katie competed together on the current season of Survivor: Blood vs. Water. Katie was eliminated in a rock draw at Tribal Council and then permanently booted from the game at Redemption Island when she lost the duel to her mom and Laura M. Tina remains on Redemption Island.

Katie spoke to ET this week about the support her family has received from the Survivor family. “I feel like as soon as word got out, we had such an [outpouring] of support from the fans of the show, CBS, all of you guys, and it was really incredible. I would like to go back and respond to each and every person that's reached out, but there's been hundreds of emails and stories. And I think that when people watch the show, and you have such a special relationship with the fans of the show, that it becomes a really personal thing. And I think that a lot of people felt what we were going through, and everything has been so heartfelt. And you know, it's really helping us get through it,” she said.

“It has been pretty recent, and he was supposed to come to the finale with us, but we're going to bring my brother's girlfriend, so she'll be there, and it will be something we can go through together,” added Katie.
