Strong Sales Prompt General Mills 2Q Profit to Rise

General Mills Inc.’s fiscal second-quarter profit jumped 50 percent due to consumers on the prowl for a cheap meal.

 

The company boosted its full-year earning guidance for the second time in three months, reporting that its earning climbed to $565.5 million, or $1.66 per share, for the quarter ending Nov. 29.

 

In late morning trading, shares were up 47 cents to $68.76.
