Allen’s Flower Market, a Long Beach, California-based, family-owned and operated flower shop as well as recipient of Best Long Beach Florist Award in 2012 and 2013, reminds Long Beach residents about the upcoming local holiday tradition of the Naples Christmas Boat Parade.
The event takes place on Saturday, December 21, 2013. This is the 67th year the parade has been held and is considered to be one of the best displays of Christmas and Hanukkah lights on boats in Southern California. This year’s theme is “Vintage Christmas.” Large boats will begin their procession at 6:00pm along the Peninsula followed by small boats that begin at 6:45pm at the Appian Way Bridge. The large and small boats will travel in opposite directions. The best viewing spots include the bridges and canals around Naples Island as well as the 2nd Street Bridge, Appian Way Bridge, and the Alamitos Bay Marina. There is parking nearby as well as many restaurants to make it a special night out with the family.
In commenting on the importance of creating family traditions, Harry Goldman, Owner of Allen’s Flower Market, said, “The holidays are about family and creating memories for our children and us. It is a time to celebrate the reason for the season, which is much more than just giving and receiving presents. Christmas is the time of year to reflect on another year and what we have in terms of our health, friends, family and even our colleagues and clients. Enjoying a local holiday event like the Naples Christmas Boat Parade is another way to increase your holiday spirit as well as celebrate with members of your local community. We look forward to this time of year and are always inspired by the creativity that the boat owners put into their displays.”
