Steve Nash had 15 points, 12 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds, Leandro Barbosa added 26 points and Shawn Marion finished with 20 and 11 boards as the Phoenix Suns (57-19) beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (35-41) 103-95.
Phoenix used a 10-0 run late in the first quarter to build a 33-21 lead and finished the period with a 14 point advantage. Marion dropped 12 points in the opening quarter to pace the Suns attack. Marc Jackson tried to keep the Hornets in the game with 10 in the quarter but Phoenix never trailed in the game.
The second quarter belonged to Leandro Barbosa who scored 10 points and by the end of the half the Suns were up 60-48.
NO/Oklahoma City opened the third on an 8-2 run to cut their deficit to six but went nearly five minutes without a bucket as the Suns pushed their lead back to 12 with 2:34 left in the quarter. By the end of the period Phoenix was up 77-67.
The Suns locked the game up with a 9-0 run in the fourth to take a 91-71 lead. The Hornets pulled to within seven with 1:25 on the clock but couldn’t get any closer
