Chief Executive Officer of British Airlines Plc Willie Walsh won a court ruling yesterday to stop a planned holiday-season strike. Judge Laura Cox prevented the 12-day walkout by the Unite union, which represents 13,000 cabin crew.
The strike is centered on Walsh’s move to cut one attendant on each long-haul flight, part of his efforts to restore profit to the ailing airline.
British Airways, Europe’s third-largest airline, posted a record 217 million-pound ($351 million) loss in the first half of the year.
Stocks of Biritsh Airways (BAY.L) fell 1.93 percent to 188.5 pence in London trading.
