The health of Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi, the lone man jailed for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland that killed 270 people, has continued to deteriorate with officials now reporting his cancer has spread throughout his body.
Megrahi was sentenced to life in prison in 2001 but was released in August on compassionate grounds after it was determined he would only survive another three months. He was returned to Libya where he has continued to undergo treatment but his prostate cancer has since spread.
Monday will mark the 21st anniversary of the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing. Megrahi has always denied any involvement in the attack.
