Brittany Murphy, Star of Clueless, 8 Mile and Just Married, Dies at 32

Brittany Murphy, who starred in several Hollywood films including Clueless, 8 Mile and Just Married, died early Sunday morning at the age of 32. The cause of death has not been released but it has been reported that Murphy was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in full cardiac arrest.

The Los Angeles fire department responded to a call from the home of Simon Monjack, the husband of Murphy, around 8:00 a.m. and she was pronounced dead two hours later.

Murphy had several television roles before landing her big break in film with a role in Clueless in 1995. Her next big film, Girl Interrupted, landed Angelina Jolie an Academy Award and Murphy more acclaim, positioning her for a lead role in the movie 8 Mile opposite rapper Eminem. She would go on to star alongside Ashton Kutcher in the comedy Just Married.

Murphy also had several voice-over roles for television shows like King of the Hill and Futurama as well as the blockbuster film Happy Feet. There are several films currently in post-production that Murphy worked on prior to her death on Sunday.
