Winter Storms Mean Summer Planning for many Families
"We always get a lot of enrollments during the holiday season," Ms. DePorter said. "It's a combination of holiday gift-giving by parents and grandparents and families using the time off to plan for next summer."
Ms. DePorter went on to say that in 2010 SuperCamp will be held at a record number of nine schools in the U.S., including Stanford, UCLA, Brown and Wake Forest. SuperCamp offers summer enrichment programs for students in middle school, high school and college.
All programs provide students with powerful grade-appropriate learning skills and life skills. This teaching of the whole person helps students improve their grades and increase their confidence, motivation, self-esteem, critical thinking, and communication and teen leadership skills.
This will be the twenty-ninth year for SuperCamp, which has graduated over 53,000 students since its first summer program was held in Lake Tahoe in 1982. Most summers find students from all 50 states and several foreign countries attending. In addition, SuperCamp holds international programs throughout Asia, in Latin America and Europe.
Because of the early registration activity this year, parents are urged to enroll early to ensure a place and their first choice in dates and locations for their sons and daughters.
