Anthony Marshall, the son of New York philanthropist Brooke
Astor, was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in prison for siphoning money from his
mother’s $185 million fortune.
Marshall, 85, will serve his sentence in state prison beginning
in January. He is to turn himself in on January 19, which allows him to spend
Christmas with his family.
In October, Marshall was found guilty of 14 of the 15
counts against him, which included first degree larceny and scheming to
defraud.
Astor died in 2007 at the age of 103.
