Leeza Gibbons became the third contestant voted off ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after the public opted to send the entertainment maven home rather than John Ratzenberger.
Gibbons struggled through her Paso Doble and earned a 16 on the judge’s scorecards, sealing her fate for the final sendoff. While Gibbons didn’t receive the lowest score of the night she had been facing a tough public for several weeks. After the judges found her dance to be boring and uninspiring the voters concurred and sent her packing.
Earning the same score as Gibbons yet staying on the show was John Ratzenberger who joined Leeza in the bottom two. It seemed after his performance that if ever there was a time he would get dropped it was now but he managed to survive.
It looks as if ‘Dancing with the Stars’ has its own Sanjaya Malakar in the competition. While Clyde Drexler isn’t ruining songs on ‘American Idol’ he might be keeping future NBA stars from accepting invitations to compete on ‘Dancing.’ Len Goodman wondered if Drexler had just resigned himself to walking across the floor during his waltz. Drexler once again received the lowest score, a 15, yet stayed clear of the bottom two.
Next week the competition is all about the Salsa or Rumba so if you think its been bad so far just wait, it’s about to get a lot uglier.
