The 2007-08 NFL schedule was released today and a few teams will have their chance to exact revenge on season ending losses from the previous year.
For the New England Patriots a meeting with the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 4 will offer them the opportunity to stop a three game slide against a team that ended their Super Bowl aspirations in the AFC Championship game last year. If Tom Brady is to end the skid he’ll have to do it in Indy as the Colts traveled to Foxborough in 2006.
The Colts will also host the New Orleans Saints in what will be the season opener for the NFL on Thursday, Sept. 6. Week One will also feature the Chicago Bears heading to San Diego to take on the Chargers and the New York Giants visiting the Dallas Cowboys. In the Monday night games the Baltimore Ravens travel to play the Cincinnati Bengals while the Arizona Cardinals trek to San Francisco to face the 49ers.
The Saints will get their chance to meet the Bears on Dec. 30 in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship. Once again the game will be played at Soldier Field where the Chicago knocked off New Orleans to earn their Super Bowl birth.
New Orleans is looking at a rough road schedule following their breakthrough season. Along with trips to Indianapolis and Chicago the Saints play the Seattle Seahawks and a revamped 49ers squad on the road.
