People magazine interviewed mourning mother-in-law Linda Monjack in the wake of actress Brittany Murphy’s sudden death Sunday. Her son, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, was married to the star.
"He has lost the love of his life," Monjack says of her son. "It's very hard for everybody, especially Simon and Brittany's mother," she said. "I've spoken to her mother, and she is distraught. Brittany was an only child, and her mother was living with them."
Sharon Murphy has not yet commented on the tragedy.
