Swiss pharmaceuticals maker Novartis AG announced today it will buy U.S. biopharmaceutical company Corthera Inc. for $120 Million.
The deal, if approved by U.S. regulators, will allow Novartis to develop a new drug against heart failure called relaxin.
Shares in Novartis were down 0.09 percent at 56.80 Swiss francs ($54.25) on the Zurich exchange.
