New movies being released on DVD and Blu Ray this week:

The Butler: starring Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda. The drama follows a White House butler over his 3 decades of service to 8 presidents. Rated PG 13

Enough Said: starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener, Toni Collette and Ben Falcone. The romantic drama/comedy tells the story of a divorced woman who discovers that her boyfriend is her new friend’s ex-husband. Rated: PG 13

Riddick: starring Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff and Bokeem Woodbine. The sci-fi action film centers on a fugitives fight for survival against alien predators on a foreign planet. His only hope is an emergency beacon, but the beacon brings a new set of problems – enemies who will stop at nothing to kill him. Rated R

Fruitvale Station: starring Michael B. Jordan, Octavia L. Spencer, Melonie Diaz, Kevin Durand and Ahna O'Reilly. The drama tells the true story of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old Bay Area man who was killed by a police officer at the Fruitvale subway stop on New Year’s Day 2009. Rated R

20 Feet From Stardom: starring Lou Adler, Stephanie 'Stevvi' Alexander and Patti Austin. The documentary focuses on the lives and work of the backup singers behind popular musicians. Rated PG 13

Carrie: starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell and Ansel Elgort. Stephen King’s classic horror story about a girl with telekinetic powers is revamped with Chloe Grace Moretz playing Carrie White. Carrie, an outcast at school, uses her powers to get back at her peers. Rated R

The Spectacular Now: starring Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The comedy/drama focuses on the unlikely romance between hard-partying Sutter and “good girl” Aimee. Rated R

You’re Next: starring Sharni Vinson, A.J. Bowen, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn and Joe Swanberg. The horror/thriller focuses on a family that becomes the victim of a gang of masked murderers. The family’s only hope lies in a guest who possess a secret talent. Rated R

Short Term 12: starring Brie Larson, John Gallagher, Jr., Kaitlyn Dever and Rami Malek. The drama follows a 20-something foster care facility supervisor as she navigates the foster care world with her long time boyfriend and coworker. Rated R

Blue Caprice: starring Isaiah Washington, Tequan Richmond, Tim Blake Nelson, Joey Lauren Adams and Cassandra F. Freeman. The thriller is inspired by the real life events of the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks. It explores the father-son relationship behind the attacks. Rated R

A.C.O.D.: starring Adam Scott, Richard Jenkins, Jane Lynch, Catherine O'Hara and Amy Poehler. The comedy tells the story of an “Adult Child of Divorce” who must confront his parents’ divorce again when his younger brother gets married. Rated R

A Single Shot: starring Sam Rockwell, Jeffrey Wright, William H. Macy, Kelly Reilly and Jason Isaacs. The thriller tells the story of a hunter who becomes the target of backwoods criminals after accidentally killing a young woman. Rated R
