WAYNE Water Systems Introduces New AdvanTEXT™ Sump Pump That Texts Homeowners With Basement Flooding Alerts

Flooding is the number one natural disaster in the United States today and for any homeowner, it can be devastating to come home to a flooded basement. At risk is damage to furnaces, water heaters, appliances, carpeting, electronics and more that can total in the tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention the danger of molds.

Now, WAYNE Water Systems is offering homeowners peace of mind with new AdvanTEXT™, a sump pump with 2-way texting capability. It is the only sump pump system on the market today that uses cellular technology, not the internet or landline, to send text messages instantly when there is a power outage or water problem. And, the homeowner can send a text to the device at any time to get a real-time status update.

Because the unit works like a mobile phone with its own batteries, it will still operate during a power outage as long as the cellular network is working, according to Tony Renfro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Wayne Water Systems.

“AdvanTEXT goes directly from the sump pit to the cell tower and then the homeowner’s cell phone, so notification is immediate,” he said. He noted that this real-time information allows the homeowner to take pre-emptive action like calling a relative, neighbor or plumber for assistance. The system can text up to three cell phone numbers at once.

Easy to install and operate, AdvanTEXT is integrated into a reliable WAYNE 1/2HP sump pump, so that both the alarm and the pump work through one power cord. The dual float system attaches to the discharge in the sump pit. As water rises and lifts the lower float, the system sends a text message to the homeowner that it has detected a high water level. If the water keeps rising, it lifts the second float and sends the homeowner a second text. When the water goes back down, the system sends a third text message telling the homeowner the system is back to normal. Likewise, when the power goes off for more than 10 seconds, the homeowner receives a text, and another text is sent when the power is restored. AdvanTEXT is also available as a standalone alarm that can be used in conjunction with any sump pump in the market.

With most traditional sump pump alarm systems, the homeowner needs to be home to know that there is a problem. Now, texting with your sump pump while you’re away can actually save your property!
