Asian Plantations Limited, the perpetually expanding palm oil company has made a deal with Jubilant Paradise Sdn Bhd , to acquire its major shares and its wholly owned subsidiary, Incosetia Sdn Bhd (the “Jubilant Group”), which owns a partly developed palm oil plantation totalling approximately 5,850 hectares in Sarawak, Malaysia. The news indicates the company has achieved their 2009 goal of doubling they’re nearly 5,000 hectare estate.
The new development is near to Asian Plantation’s existing estate with only five miles between them. The nearby location brings the company closer to another of their goals, building a crushing mill on their premises. When the crushing mill is completed, APL will benefit from a faster oil turnover rate and make their operations even more ecofriendly. The 50 kilometre hike between the plantation and the crushing mill, will be no more, further broadening the distance been palm oil’s innate greenness and that of other edible oils.
Already them most cost-efficient, environmentally friendly edible oil, APL recognizes demand for their product will continue to improve as they streamline their operations. With this in mind they purchased the Incosetia Estate, over 1,000 hectares of planted land, consisting of palms of approximately three years of age.
