USC Trojans running back Joe McKnight was back at practice on Thursday and could still play on Saturday night when the school faces Boston College in the Emerald Bowl.
McKnight has been the subject of a school investigation regarding possible rules violations tied to the use of an SUV that was not his. While McKnight was allowed to return to practice the school has not yet cleared him to play.
The junior running back had practiced on Monday but was off the field Tuesday and Wednesday to deal with compliance issues according to coach Pete Carroll. McKnight travelled to San Francisco on Wednesday evening to rejoin the team which is now preparing for Boston College.
Carroll has said he is optimistic McKnight will be allowed to play but if not Allen Bradford would likely start for the Trojans.
