Tom Brady was 23/26 passing for 267 yards and four touchdowns, Wes Welker had 13 receptions for 138 yards and Randy Moss had three touchdowns on four receptions as the New England Patriots (10-5) hammered the Jacksonville Jaguars (7-8) 35-7 on Sunday to clinch the AFC East.
Brady put the Patriots in front 7-0 last in the first quarter when he found Moss on a 2-yard toss and that lead would carry over into the second. New England then poured it on as Brady hit Chris Baker on a 26-yard TD pass and that was followed by a one-yard touchdown run from Sammy Morris. The Patriots would add another Brady to Moss score, this time a 6-yarder, just before the half and New England was cruising at 28-0 at the break.
Neither team could score in the third but in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter the Patriots extended their lead to 35-0 when Brady hit Moss on a 17-yard strike. Jacksonville responded with their first touchdown of the game, a 2-yard keeper from David Garrard, but that would be the only time the Jaguars would see the endzone.
Jacksonville managed just 275 yards of total offense and were 4-11 on third down conversions.
