The main events will start on July 5 and will run till 17 July. The next phase of the main event will again start on 6 November after a gap of 4 months. 2009 WSOP saw a record 6000 participants in its $1,000 open event. This was the highest in the history of WSOP. This unprecedented success with two starting days encouraged Harrah’s to reconsider on the buy-in amounts in order to make it more affordable. According to Seth Palansky, the WSOP communications director Harrah’s is considering a proposal to make $1,000 the new lowest buy-in for open bracelet events. Presently it is $1,500. They are also considering the option of increasing the number of low buy-in games.
This 41st chapter of WSOP will be held in the hot and happening Rio Al Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jack Effel, who has been the Director for the event for the last five years, said that the event will be presenting great opportunities for every player irrespective of their game or their bankroll.
2010 WSOP will start off on 28 May with an Exciting special Event--The $50,000 Player's Championship. This will be again the costliest tournament of the series. The event will be organized to honor the legendary poker player Reese Chip who died in 2007.
This game will be open to expert master Poker players. These great players face each other in eight poker alternatives during the four-day event.
