Men’s AP Top 25 College Basketball Rankings Week 7: Kansas Jayhawks Reign Continues, Texas Longhorns and Kentucky Wildcats Stay Close
The Kansas Jayhawks remain the number one team in the country according to the latest AP Men’s Top 25 College Basketball rankings, holding off the Texas Longhorns and Kentucky Wildcats for another week.
Kansas took care of California in their only game this past week but they could find themselves tested this week when they travel to face the Temple Owls on Jan. 2.
With Kansas holding firm to their top spot the Texas Longhorns remain at #2 this week after an impressive win over Michigan State. The Longhorns should have little trouble in stretching their record to 13-0 this week as they face Gardner-Webb and Texas A&M-CC.
The Kentucky Wildcats remained unbeaten and unchanged in the AP Top 25 rankings as they took care of business against Drexel and Long Beach State but they have a huge showdown against Louisville this week and the Cardinals would love nothing more than to upset their in-state rival.
Purdue, Syracuse and West Virginia follow in the AP Top 25 and while all three are unbeaten at least one will have a loss by the end of the week as Purdue and West Virginia meet on Jan. 1.
