Specialized Mobile Provider Webtel.mobi – which provides high quality but low cost mobile calling and texting services in over 195 countries - is going ahead with preparation for an IPO in 2010.
Citing the overwhelming success of its recent launch event – reportedly one of the most successful in history – as well as the robust valuation of the company by two independent organisations and significant interest in the company from both the Asian and North American markets, the company indicated that its IPO planning was far advanced.
“We have already had very positive interaction with the management of the exchange where we intend to list the company’s shares, and have started appointing our professional advisors. We have also received strong expressions of interest from institutional and retail investors in Asia and North America, who are very keen to participate in an IPO when the company goes to market” said Stuart Sterzel, CEO of Webtel.mobi.
Commenting on their expansion plans, he went on to say that “As demonstrated in our worldwide launch event which successfully brought about global brand awareness of the company, our company’s planning is geared towards global operations. Our system of client expansion through our worldwide Affiliates Program is also proven, and our IPO will enable us to implement our expansion to the same level of success as our launch event”.
Webtel.mobi is completing the full internationalization of its mobile service’s website – www.webtel.mobi/pc - into 20 languages, as well as a calling service upgrade, in early 2010. This is to make their service available in languages used by over 80% of the world’s population, as well as to further enhance its clients’ calling experience.
Increased interest in tech and telecoms stocks in markets around the globe, combined with the fact that these industries have proven to be relatively “recession-proof”, has resulted in IPOs within these industry sectors achieving high levels of success in late 2009; a trend which seems set to continue in 2010.
