TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: TSYS), the wireless and satellite equipment maker, said Monday it received an additional $8 million in funding from the U.S. Marine Corps.

The company said it will provide field support and maintenance for the TCS Wireless Point-to-Point Link (WPPL) systems, which that transmit voice, video and data.
TeleCommunication Systems will also supply spare parts for the RF and Network packages of the WPPL systems, including sector and directional antennas, modems, routers, router cards and router modules.
This order was awarded by the Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program (CSTP) and through the U.S. Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle.
