Somali pirates have hijacked two ships off the East Africa coast and are currently holding the vessels and their 45 crew hostage.
One vessel, a UK-flagged chemical tanker, had been making its way from Thailand to Spain when it was boarded in the Gulf of Aden. The St. James Park, with a crew of 26, was carrying a cargo of chemicals used to make plastics when it was seized.
The second vessel, a Panamanian-flagged Greek cargo ship, had been sailing from Florida to India when it was nabbed just north of the Seychelles.
There have been no demands reported thus far but both vessels are being steered toward Somalia where they will likely sit with dozens of other hijacked ships while ransom is negotiated.
