“Spider-Man 3” Opens in Tokyo, Spins Web in U.S. May 4

The highly anticipated “Spider-Man 3” finally hit the big screen but movie-goers in the U.S. will have to wait until May 4 before they’ll have a chance to see the superhero spin his web.

Columbia Pictures opted to open the third flick in Tokyo and all the stars of the movie were there to walk the red carpet. Once again Tobey Maguire will wear the suit but in this installment he’ll see how he looks in black as his famous red and blue custom changes color and presents a darker side to his personality.

The movie centers around Spider-Man’s inner struggles while two new villains make their debut, Sandman and Venom.

Kirsten Dunst returns as Peter Parker’s (Spider-Man) girlfriend and James Franco returns as Parker’s former best friend, Harry Osborn.

“Spider-Man 3” will be open to general audiences in Japan starting May 1.
