AT&T (NYSE: T) Resumes Online iPhone Sales in NYC

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has resumed the sale of iPhones to New Yorkers from its Web site for unclear reasons, according to Associated Press.

The company has yet to explain the cause of the sales suspension, which started a few days ago. It said Monday that it periodically "modifies" its distribution channels.

Buyers who typed in New York City ZIP codes on att.com, AT&T's Web site, were told to "Please shop for another phone."

AT&T has said that the company’s data network has been inundated with iPhone users in New York and San Francisco, causing customers to speculate that the sales suspension is a means of managing traffic.
