MLB News: Jason Bay Signs Four-Year Deal with NY Mets

Jason Bay, one of the top free agents entering the offseason, has found a new home after coming to an agreement with the New York Mets that guarantees $66 million over four years.

As part of the deal Bay will have a vesting option year that could bring him just over $80 million over five years. The provisions of that vesting option year are said to be based on attainable targets tied to plate appearances.

While with the Boston Red Sox in 2009 Bay hit .267 with 36 home runs and 119 RBIs.
