Society of Professional Journalists Condemns NBC for Flying Boy and Father Home from Brazil

World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

The Society of Professional Journalists slammed NBC News for “checkbook journalism” after the network chartered a jet to carry David Goldman, the New Jersey man involved in a bitter custody battle, and his son, Sean, home from Brazil.

Goldman granted an interview to Meredith Vieira of NBC’s “Today” show. NBC says Goldman was booked for “Today” before the network invited him on the plane, adding that the network had already arranged for the plan tob bring its own employees home for Christmas.

"We've covered this story exceptionally well," said NBC spokeswoman Lauren Kapp, “Their going on the plane did not affect our coverage of the story or getting them booked at all."
