The Virginia Tech Police Department has identified Cho Seung-Hui as the gunman who shot and killed 32 individuals on the Virginia Tech campus before turning the gun on himself on Monday. The 23-year-old Seung-Hui, a senior at the Blacksburg, Va. university, was linked to the two separate shooting incidents that occurred on the campus.
Police officials revealed that ballistic tests confirmed that a gun used in the first shooting incident at West Ambler Johnston Hall had been used in the second shooting two hours later at Norris Hall.
Witnesses at the Norris Hall shooting reported the gunman used two pistols in the rampage and law enforcement officials have said they found receipts for the purchase of a Glock 9 mm in a backpack carried by Seung-Hui.
Both guns used in the shootings had their serial numbers scraped off.
Cho Seung-Hui is now suspected of killing two students at the West Ambler Johnston Hall dormitory and another 30 students and faculty at the Norris Hall classroom building before taking his own life with a shot to the head.
