A British man held hostage since May 2007 has been released in Iraq and is to be reunited with his family shortly.
Peter Moore was in Baghdad working as an IT consultant for the US management consultancy Bearingpoint when he was captured, along with four men employed to protect him, at the Iraqi Ministry of Finance.
Three of the bodyguards were shot and killed while the fourth, Alan McMenemy, was believed to have been taken hostage along with Moore. Earlier this year the bodies of the three bodyguards were returned to the UK but there has been no news of McMenemy.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has said he believes McMenemy was also killed and has called for the return of his body as well.
As for Moore, he was taken to the British Embassy in Baghdad on Wednesday where he is said to be in good health and will travel home as soon as possible.
