Link My Fan, a Social Networking Content Management Platform, has updated its layout to the individual Right Now Post. Each Right Now post displays in the Right Now Feed of Link My Fan. When a visitor clicks on the word “Share” under that post they are taken to the individual page for that post. The new layout now displays the video when the member includes one. In addition, if the member does not include a Link or News Story but does include multiple pictures the first five pictures are displayed.
The purpose of the update was to make the individual Right Now Post page more engaging and appealing by having the Video and Pictures more visible. Each Right Now Post on the individual page has its own SEO friendly URL and share features through ShareThis. The benefits of the Right Now Post ShareThis feature is unlike other Social Networking sites that require you to sign in to see content because Link My Fan does not require a sign in. As a result Link My Fan Right Now posts can be shared to outside Social Sites and Book Marking sites which provides for each members post to have a much wider reach.
Link My Fan launched the new Right Now on July 28th, 2013 and has seen the posts evolve from members. Austin Crye of Link My Fan stated “ We are seeing the Right Now posts evolve into what Members want to utilize them for. We are seeing Artists do posts that include pictures, a video, audio file description and a link. Other members are using Right Now as their Blog. Using the Right Now as a blog was not the intention when we first launched but it makes perfect sense. What we did was increased the number of characters to 6000 to appeal to bloggers.”
