Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to Wed on Friday; Bollywood Awaits Union

They don’t come with any of the ridiculous nicknames bestowed upon Hollywood couples. There is no Brangelina or Bennifer or TomKat equivalent that the two will be know as. Rather, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan will marry on Friday and simply become Bollywood royalty.

Rai, 33, won the Miss World crown in 1994 and has gone on to star in several Bollywood films as well as films outside the Bollywood environment.

Abhishek, 31, already comes from a bloodline of Bollywood elite with a mother and father who are regarded as two of the most recognizable figures in the industry.

The couple, who became engaged in January, will marry at the home of the elder Bachchan’s with Rai wearing a traditional hand-embroidered sari with an intricate goldwork design.
