Times Square Reopened After Bomb Scare

Times Square was reopened Wednesday after police determined that a suspicious white van parked at 42nd Street and Broadway did not contain a bomb and posed no threat. New York City authorities had shutdown a large section of the square and evacuated nearby buildings to investigate the van.

The van had no license plate and had been parked in the same spot for several days. According to a detective with the NYPD, an illegal plaque was propped up in the front window and a tarp was covering the inside of the vehicle.

No other details were available.
