LeBron James scored 18 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and handed out 6 assists while Larry Hughes added 22 points and 5 assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers (49-32) beat the Philadelphia 76ers (34-47) 98-92 to remain alive in the chase for the number two seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

The Cavaliers built an eight point advantage by halftime but the Sixers opened the third quarter on a 10-0 run to grab a two point lead. Cleveland responded with a 15-5 run were up by eight once again.

Willie Green pulled the Sixers to within 73-70 with a three-pointer at the two minute mark of the third quarter but that was as close as Philadelphia would get the rest of the way.

In the fourth quarter the Cavaliers lead grew to as much as 14 and the Sixers never mounted a serious challenge to the Cleveland lead.

For the Cavaliers to earn the number two seed they will have to beat the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and the Chicago Bulls will have to fall to the New Jersey Nets on the same night.
